For smaller projects, where JCT contracts may be unnecessarily complex, we offer a clear and straightforward alternative — a bespoke building contract written in plain language and designed to support a more streamlined, flexible delivery.

"For 9 months throughout 2021 until Christmas, Dan Rutland of Ward & Daughters managed the construction of our architecturally unique and bespoke studio space, designed by Orme Architecture. His thorough evaluation, examination and execution of the archtitect's scheme was excellent. Once construction started we were fully engaged and understood the process and programme pinch-points, all professionally managed. Every member of the team is a pleasure to work with. In addition and in respect of trades, Dan made good recommendations and where required engaged and managed the craftsmen for each element of the project. "We have worked with Dan and his team on a couple of projects, in particular a new build house in Somerset. The project was complex and being sited within a historic walled garden demanded a sensitivity to context. Dan took his time to interrogate the drawings, querying design, construction and details to ensure that what was drawn could be built, and would be cost-effective, robust and elegant. During the build Dan managed the execution of the works to ensure that what was drawn and agreed was built. He maintained regular communication to discuss progress and raise questions and he controlled the build team to ensure things were well-executed and done in a timely fashion.
